Woodard Casual Furniture at Patio Land USA

Since 1866 the Woodard name has been upheld by master craftsmen loyal to the unparalleled standards established by founder Lyman Woodard. Beginning in the 1930’s, the Woodard family developed the first collection of hand-crafted wrought iron furniture. This innovation marked the birth of casual outdoor furniture and ultimately led to casual furniture designs made from a variety of materials, the most prominent being cast and tubular aluminum.

Throughout the years, Woodard expanded its product offering. Changing lifestyles with an emphasis on comfort prompted Woodard to enter the tubular aluminum market. Soon after, Woodard began manufacturing cast aluminum furniture, providing an assortment of quality crafted casual furniture pieces.

Today, Woodard continues the tradition of hand-crafted wrought iron furniture with the same quality craftsmanship implemented by its founder. Under the flagship Woodard brand, wrought iron, cast aluminum and tubular aluminum products are manufactured using the finest materials available, state of the art finish systems, and quality control systems second to none in our industry.

Casual Aluminum (Castille, Nantucket, Vienna)

Certain elements set Woodard casual furniture apart from all others. Some of the differences you will notice immediately such as the timeless contours created exclusively for Woodard by award winning designers. Others, though, go beyond the obvious visual appeal to the foundation of every piece of Woodard casual furniture.

One of the less obvious features is the virgin aluminum Woodard employs in its designs. Only seamless, virgin aluminum extrusions are used - the heaviest, purist and strongest available. Additionally, the wall thickness of Woodard casual frames are never thinner than .055 inches and feature multi-rib or double-wall construction for unparalleled durability.

The main difference that places Woodard in a class by itself, are the skilled craftsmen who hand-weld and hand-bend every frame, and then carefully grind and buff each frame to showpiece perfection.

Once the raw frames are hand constructed, a state-of-the-art, five-step finishing process is applied to ensure that every furniture piece will withstand the effects of time.

Cast Aluminum (Heritage, Delphi)

Woodard's cast collections are conceived by the industry's premier designers who reference historical architectural elements to create timeless designs.

Each collection is constructed with the purest, most resilient aluminum alloys. 356 aluminum ingots to be exact, along with extrusion alloys that are never less than 60-61 or 60-63 gauge and internal components made from the finest stainless steel.

Skilled craftsmen hand-cast, weld and buff each section. Each piece is then brought to flawless completion through Woodard's multi-step finishing process, making them wear-resistant and impervious to chipping.

These features - ageless design, unparalleled construction and superior raw materials - ensure the lasting value of each cast collection for decades of graceful living.

Wrought Iron (Salerno)

Only a handful of art forms exist still unscathed by the onslaught of modern technology. One of the most extraordinary examples you will find anywhere in the world is the handcrafted elegance of Woodard wrought iron furniture.

The process begins with skilled craftsmen who use solid wrought iron stock, 13-16 gauge tubular steel, the strongest and most durable in the industry. Craftsmen then mold and shape the wrought iron by hand - an unprecedented feature that distinguishes Woodard from other manufacturers who rely on machines to cut and bend the metal.

Once hand constructed, a MetalGuard™ finish is applied to each frame. This process is similar to the rust-proof treatment applied to luxury automobiles, but customized for Woodard's furniture manufacturing process. After being purified and dipped into a batch of zinc phosphates (rust inhibitors) that penetrate deep into the metal, each frame is then electro-coated to create a permanent weather resistant seal. Finally, a powder-coated color finish (5 mils thick on average) is applied and baked into the metal.

The end result, beautifully constructed wrought iron furniture - the finest in the marketplace.
